*The number of people developing breast cancer is increasing year by year, and it is said that one in nine women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime. Breast cancer is highly curable if detected early, so it is very important to have regular breast cancer screenings.
Breast cancer testing method
Mammography and ultrasound (echo examination) are the most common tests performed to check for breast cancer. Mammography is an X-ray photograph (X-ray) specifically for the breasts, in which the breast is held between compression plates and spread out thinly to make it easier to detect abnormalities.
Ultrasound testing, on the other hand, is a test that uses ultrasound waves on the surface of the breast to create images of the inside of the breast.
At our hospital, we perform breast cancer screening using ultrasound. The doctor in charge is a surgical specialist who has treated many breast cancer patients, and is also a female doctor, so you can feel at ease.
